Starts next week (5th July) on FX & FX HD.

Anyone going to be tuning in?

Although its getting 'Fair' reviews in the States frankly I'm not sure we haven't reached 'Alien Invasion Overload' now - what with all the recent (rubbish) films on the same subject.

Probably not right away. Think I'll wait to see how it does in the states and decide based on whether it looks likely to get renewed. I've wasted too much time getting in to these types of American sci-fi shows just for them to be canned after one series without wrapping up the story.

If this one is anything like 'Invasion' or 'The Event', then it will start off well then get a bit dull in the middle while the writers attempt to fill episodes without revealing the alien master plan or the reason for the invasion. It'll then pick up towards the end in order to make some progress in the story arc and set up a cliff-hanger in an effort to get a second season (which they don't and the viewer is left never knowing what happens). wink

If you do watch it, I'd be interested to know what you think, and whether it seems to do anything different.

What CheesyChips said. It's happened twice now, so I'll just wait to see how it pans out.

'V' was equally as pants as the 2 shows you've mentioned...

Anyway, I'll give it a view and report back.

Invasion was good...but unfortunately a sci-fi based around a hurricane hit a snag when that Florida had that huge hurricane. So the writers had to cock the shows direction up because it was upsetting to Floridians.

Well, the first 10 minutes got me annoyed.

  • Why, if the aliens are behind you with superb weaponry, are you running down the street in full view, and not sneaking around stealth like?

Well that has to improve and fast.

Like the walking dead but swap Zombies for Aliens.

You know a show's in trouble when you start rooting for the badly CGI'd aliens. So far, it's War of the Worlds, with a sprinkle of Terminator: Salvation, and a dash of V. Nothing we haven't seen before.

Have stuck with this and liking it. Always seems to be something new in each episode and I like the fact that there are the other aliens, very creepy.

Also glad I stuck with it as it settled into its stride nicely. Really enjoyed the last five episodes.

They've been renewed for another Season so I guess we may see it at a similar time next year.

I enjoyed it.

Took a while to get going, and on the odd occasion, the aliens look pretty awful (but good in other places) but it's reasonably enjoyable.

Will be interesting to see what happens to the dad and the son (Ben?) over the next series.

I too enjoyed it. I hope they do continue the story instead of the usual dumping it early on scenario.

It's been renewed with a 10 episode run so they should get time to conclude things nicely.

It was a bit of a slow burner at first but the last few episodes have been very good.

All the reviews I've read slate it, and almost every topic about it on IMDB goes on about how ste it is...

I really enjoyed it. However, I don't think I've hated a character in a TV series/Film as much as That little st, Rick - just kill him and be done with it
