Josh - lipstick on a pig?
Seriously, save your cash!
At your age the extra insurance premium is going to double what a map costs and the results will not transform your car.
Didn't the old Polo (RIP) have upgraded front brakes?
Better to put the money there or maybe suspension but power increase is not what you need (have you been listening to uncle fluff - heard he needed more power
).
Sorry to be boring and sensible when POOOWWWWEEEERRRRR is mentioned but think about what you want to achieve and why?

Yeah the olop had uprated front discs per se as in EBC grooved discs and greenstuff pads(load of good they did haha)
As the pug has got discs/ pads all round, would it be idea instead to get a set of mintex discs/ pads all round? Im not that clued up on suspension types tbh, so I wouldnt really know what to do about that :S

Give Mark a call who is the Scottish agent for Elite remaps. You can go on the website www.eliteremaps.com to see what sort of power gains you will achieve. It not all about the power, but in the way the car will drive after. Quite a few forum members have had their cars/vans done by Mark and mention PH and me, and i'm sure he will give you a great deal. Mark is also a pug technition/mechanic.
call Mark on this number 07841033056. Any problems let me know. He is also mobile, so might come to you. I have known him for years, he is a good guy. He is based in Falkirk.
Kenny.

A remap will cost you not much over £200 from Mark. Expect to pay around £400 from most companies. Suspension and brake mods leave until you have a car which will benifit from it. For the money, a remap is by far one of the best mods and cheapest you can do. You do have to remember about stopping and handling, but it's not going to make your pug in to a 200bhp flying oil burner.
I'll take you in a spin in my 2.0 tdi caddy van if you want. It's got quite a lot of torque and will show you what can be achieved.

Without buying an after market intercooler and other goodies its not worth mapping. I had a d.turbo for years and the original brakes are perfectly good as long as the discs and pads are good quality. A good quality suspension kit is worth it, coilovers are a waste of time unless your planning on messing about with them, most folk set it and leave it. Just get some decent bilsteins. Or get some good quality tyres then all you need to watch is the lift off oversteer. Good cars and loads of fun, enjoy it.I'll take you in a spin in my 2.0 tdi caddy van if you want.
