Driving an Exotic Everyday

I recall reading a story in Classic Car a few years ago about a bloke in the 70's in the U.S. who drove a Muira everyday, even in the snow in winter and did so for a few years.
This really appealed to me and seemed very cool, I've often thought I'd like to do as such.
I also recall a story about another guy (again in America) who drove a Gallardo to destruction.

Lastly Simon George, a contributor on Evo Magazine and his orange Murcielago have done 120,000 miles, really enjoyed reading his stories on it:

I just think this is great and seriously tempted to do as such.
Does anyone know of other 'eccentrics' driving exotics daily?

Well, there is a chap lives near Brighton who I am sure uses his 30's Bentley blower every day. Rain or shine, i've seen him driving it like Mr Toad being persued by a very large Monkey. I don't think it gets much more exotic than that ( .. the car , not the weird monkey / frog thing that is )

Does that Lambo not have more than 200K on it now? Surely it has to be discarded as is it not part of his supercar experience fleet...

Briefly used my Chim as a daily...not exotic but it felt special...and i felt poor lol

Think that a chap in Colchester uses his R8 every day, I certainly see it around a lot.

I ran my esprits as my only/daily car, but I expect I'll have some "expert" along in a few minutes to tell me its not an exotic.

Not sure it's an exotic... But....
A few years ago I used the Rally car as a daily for one week... Sussex to Shropshire and back, met up with a couple of others in front of 'the' Ironbridge. Blists Hill etc.













Never again...

Both really, the hotel were great, offering additional security, but the car really is tiring on a run, very low ratio box and a lot of decibels... (Externally it was at 107db then, internally, gawd knows, certainly earplugs were a must for any distance, but we've quietened it down since then, mainly for sanity sakes)...

I recall a mention in Classic and Sports Car of a Pembrokeshire lady in her 80s who used her 60s Aston Martin as a daily driver. This was a few years ago.

And there was a window cleaner who ran an Alfa Romeo 8c (one of the proper ones).

It's hardly a Pug 306 Diesel either though!

I would certainly file the R8 under "exotic" though not up at the extreme end with the Gallardo Superleggeras etc.

It can be tricky - I never park it in ASDA for example. I have to insure it through specialists like Direct Line and make sure I only put exotic rubber on it like P-Zero Asimetricos. I get lots of cheery waves when I drive it though. I see lots of fists in the air, like "right-on brother".

Chap around here ran a Purple Diablo for years come Summer or Winter, slithered about on almost a daily basis... Pranged a light aircraft at Shoreham a few years ago too. Same surname as Cliff Richard when born... Same profession too.
