Currently researching winter tyres for my 2003 Z4 for this year. Car currently runs 18in wheels with 255/35 rear and 225/40 front tyres but have been looking at buying 17in wheel and tyre packages. Looked at mytyres site but they seem to suggest that 225/45 or 235/45 tyres will fit onto any of the 17in wheels, either 7.0 x 17 or 8.0 x 17 wheels. I have asked mytyres direct but they just say it is my responsibility to check suitability. Can anyone help me out here.

Firstly which tyre widths fit onto these wheels?

Secondly are these sizes suitable, size wise, for a 03 Z4?

bit of a bump but..

Since I contacted mytyres they have reduced the amount of choices given for wheel / tyre combos

Now only offering 7.0 x 16 wheels (with a 42 or 43 offset) with 205/55 tyres. Can anyone tell me if these are suitable for a 2003 Z4 - particularly the offset?

I've never seen a Z4 fitted with 16" wheels - I wonder if they would clear the brakes?

Otherwise yes, that size and offset would be ok, as would the tyre size.

Two tips:

1. Phone your local dealer and ask if 16" wheels fit (which model Z4 is it?)

2. Find a different tyre supplier. Plenty of bad experiences out there, including mine.

found this for the E85 Z4: http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/ (check out styles 102 and 104)

* "Bei Z4 3,0 nur als Winterbereifung" translates as: * At only 3.0 Z4 as winter tires

Hope that helps. smile (still worth contacting a Dealership though)

Might be an idea to put your VIN into realoem and see what BMW recommends.

Looks like the 2.5 will take 16” wheels and needs 205/55/16 tyres.

Not sure about the offsets, but again realoem might help - 7x16 has an ET 47
