My Mum has a 325 on a 51 plate which requires a service including the cambelt. My stepdad (money no object) used the main dealer but since he has passed away, finances are a little tighter. Thus my question is, can anyone recommend an independent BMW specialist in/around Maidenhead with say a 20 mile radius please? She's read good feedback about J&D at Saunderton and is quite keen at taking the car there.

Thanks for any replies.

Sixbay in Maidenhead will be fine to look after it. Also surprised by cambelt, thought almost all beemers were chains.

Thanks for the reply, she's really after a beemer specialist. I assumed the car was a belt as Den was always talking about a belt.

I used to use J&D but I don't any more.

Naming and shaming rules mean that's probably about all I can say.

K&M in Windsor are great guys. They have looked after my e39 for years.

I often have to talk them into doing things on the car, such is their non rip-off approach.

Second this. Will definitely be using them again when I have a BMW.

Bird's Autos in Iver are a BMW specialist and very good too, and if it's a 2001 it'll be an E46 325i which doesn't have a cambelt.

TCS autos in high wycombe. He looks after my track car and 540. He pretty much only looks after BMW's and is an ex BMW racer. Ask for Tim and tell him Rob sent you.

The car is fitted with a timing chain, which should last the 'life time' of the car, so unless a specific issue has been highlighted then no need to do any additional maintenance in this area other than regualer oil changes using recommended oils.

Also, you are looking for indie's to cut down costs so you may wish to know that E46 BMW's qualify for something called Value Servicing at the main dealer. Have a read of this. It's an option.
