I've recently moved over to Kaspersky anti-virus and 'am happy with it. However, when I run it and it gets to scan my Spybot s&d files, it comes up with a request to insert a password which I don't have. I was never asked for one when installing, either s&d or Kaspersky. Can someone advise on this one?
Thanks,
Stew..

It could be that, for whatever reason, the spybot product has some stuff it hides away in password protected archives (I am not familiar with the product, so can't be sure).
Some (most decent) AV products can scan inside archives, and some will prompt you for a password for anything it spots is an archive, but where a password is required....... obviously you may not have the password if it is hidden in the spybot product.

Hope that made sense.... not had enough caffeine yet

Thanks for the advice. I've reset Kaspersky and altered the mode settings on Spybot, so it doesn't create a restore point before removing and all is now sorted.
