What's with the small teddy hanging from bumper?

Maybe im getting old, but ive seen a few recently, and now some bell end at work has a small teddy hanging off the back of his rude MG ZR. Whats it all about?

I can understand the massive exhaust's etc, but a teddy?

It's so he can use Rupert the bear to show his mates how sideways he is getting in his RWD MG.

It's a good luck charm in a some Asian countries, and is supposed to protect them from spirits making them crash or something similar. It has been taken up by Jap or Drift scene, then copied by others.
