I am just wandering how many of you either use a portable MP3 player or have a car MP3 player?

And does anyone have a massive dance/trance collection?

There is a reason behind why I'm asking

I've got about 22Gig at the moment, disk space limiting it at the moment (awaiting financial concurrence from the missus :-)

It includes all 57 Now.. albums, which is quite a good laugh when you look back.

I normally use Kazaa but it's not good for complete albums, any recomendations?

I thought soulseek had been closed down yonks ago.

Try overnet. Good for complete discography's let alone albums.

I have a collection, but its hardly massive compared to some of the numbers here. Some people must have lots of money!

I have about 6Gb, probably 2Gb of dance/trance - all ripped from my own CD's, mostly at 64kbps.

[geek/on]
About 50Gig of VBR MP3s and about 380Gig of the same music in APE lossless format. Ipod (20Gig) and MediaCenter v10 with USB digital out to my hi-fi.
[geek/off]
I have a large number of Dance and Electronica mix CDs that have been encoded and the only problem with the Ipod is that it can't run tracks seamlessly together which creates a naff gap between tracks.
There are a number of head-units (incl. Alpine) coming out that offer native Ipod control in-car (i.e. headunit mimics Ipod display and controls...)

I have about 14Gb all ripped through iTunes' AAC encoder at 128kbps or MP3 encoder at 196. Some of the numbers bandied about are enough to make a bloke feel inadequate!
Probably about 70% is dance. It lives on the Mac and an old style 20Gb iPod.
So, come on SXS, what's the purpose?

I have a rapidly growing trance collection, though most of it is on CD. Lots of In Trance We Trust, Gatecrasher, Techno Club, Black Hole etc...

Fantastic stuff

Well, other half recently done a runner and in the process 'accidently' broke most of my hard-earned gadgets...

The most important of them being the Car HD-MP3 player, with my 6000 song collection, most copied from CD's I owned for over 8 years now and CD's have gone walkies since, feeling gutted is an understatement!

The purpose
Anyone willing to help my audio collection re-grow?

I've got a fair old stack of trance/house stuff, no idea how much these days but a fair bit. Mix of rips from CDs and tracks/mixes from Radio1. Drop me an email if I can help.

Sadly I have no list, all the playlists were on that drive, just got quoted £800 quids to do hard-drive platter removal and professional data retrieve Ouch!
Many trance compilations, some specialist from Cosmic and Astral Projection era, Sash, Robert Miles, Sisqo, Marc Anthony albums, Michael Bolton (no comments! ).... Best bet, to make it easier for you guys willing to help, I'll drop the new hard-drive off, and just bang on what you can... I'll just spend a couple of weeks re-sorting and hopefully re-creating my playlists... and this time I'll create a backup drive too (what an idiot)... thanks chaps.
