BMW M3 E92 or Corvette C6 Z06 ?

Seriously they are in the same price league as a used car.. I know the Corvette has more performance but the BMW looks better to me.
So if i want to drive such a car for 5 years, which one would you recommend ?
I dont know if Corvette has quality issues after 5 years ? which makes me tend to BMW..

Corvette it more special in the UK so as a result will depreciate less than the M3 in the long run. Corvette is also a proper sports car rather than a fast rep mobile. It's also waaaaaay quicker (Z06's are super quick) and due to it's relative simplicity and understressed engine and transmission, it will last much longer without problems. Also likely to be much cheaper and simpler to fix than an M3 when it does go wrong too.
My money would be on the vette all day long, unless I needed 4 seats.

I would say BMW will have more issues after 5 years. It will depreciate more and cost more to run.So if i want to drive such a car for 5 years, which one would you recommend ?

Plus as much as I love M Cars, they are nowhere near "being an event" as the Vette will be.

Just my opinion, the M3 is probably more practical, quite likely cheaper to run and RHD. But it isn't a vette and isn't anywhere near as rare or interesting in the UK.
I'd stare if I saw any corvette on UK roads, I may glance at the BMW just to see if I could work out if it was an M3 or a 335 etc

kING sDaily driver, motorway stuff or the need for occasional practicality ie passengers the M3 is the winner.
As a fun ownership prospect and a purely selfish car the Corvette all the way.
Honestly I think these are two very different cars and you need to ask yourself what you actually need out of a vehicle.

That is a good position to be in and they are both very good cars.
The BMW may have better steering and gear change but the Corvette has been making strives to improve on this. The BMW will also be more refined down a typical British twisty, bumpy B road. Corvettes can be a handful in this sort of situation especially with their width and with you sitting on the wrong side.
I would not take these to be strong negatives though as the Z06 will thrill in other ways. Its ability to cover ground is immense. It is relatively low weight for its size and the engine is a beast. It is a stunning looking vehicle as well and has a sense of occasion that a E92 M3 never could. It also has fantastic build quality in the places that would likely cost you a lot if they went wrong. The word bullet proof suits the Vette very well.
The choice would be a lot harder if you were comparing to the basic C6 or were also looking at an M3 CSL, but I think between these two you may regret not going for the Z06.
The new 2012 Z06 has also just posted a time at the Nurburgring of 7.22.68 which seems to be relatively brisk for a Yank tank! Obviously Nurburgring times do not mean anything blah blah blah....

I commented recently on this forum, on a comarison between a ZO6 and a NSX, both of which I had seen that very day. Both looked tremendous, and unfortunately, as good as the M3 is, and it is a stonker, no doubt, but the Z06 all the way also. Just so much presence, and, for once in an American car, the go to back up the hype. A true supercar.
I'm a very difficult person to sway away from anything four wheeled from Munich, however - a single post I read recently did engender an irrational desire for the 'vette.

Much as I'd love to join in with the fantasy, my neighbour delights in the fact that on a good run, he can get 44mpg out of his 318BMW, on the way home, on the motorway.
So......40mpg from a 7lt V8.....on that route.....really think that's possible ? I think someones had too many cream teas.

BMW does not even get a second glance from me. I would be in that Z06 like a shot if I could.

I quite like it for its plain facia and lack of un-needed crap. Stereo, steering wheel, AC...what else do you need in there? Everything else is just a distraction from driving, does not add to the performance, looks fussy and is just more stuff to go wrong.
