A Wedge between you and the Mrs.

There are many similarities between the Wedge and the Mrs. They are both unreliable, loud, high maintenance and very hard to work on. All of a sudden it’s become clear to me why the female species dislike the Wedge so much. Well it’s obvious. Only opposites attract and because the Mrs and the Wedge are so similar they dislike each other. Now for those of you who have made the mistake of getting married first, before buying a Wedge, I feel I am in a position to give you some useful advice.
Now that you have managed to acquire a Wedge you have already passed the first hurdle and are ready to move on to the next stage. In order to enjoy the Wedge to the max you need to take the Wedge out on your own. After all, with the Mrs in tow she is likely to cramp your style. One of the ways to achieve this is as follows.
On your way home from work buy a bunch of flowers and perhaps a box of the Mrs’ favourite chocolates. When you arrive home leave them in the boot of your company car. Go inside and greet the Mrs as you always do and ask her what’s for dinner. When she tells you what she has cooked, start up a deliberate argument saying something like ‘Oh not that again! I am sick of that meal!’ or something to that effect. Once the argument begins throw a few more logs on the fire and heat up the argument by criticizing something the Mrs is touchy about. Then grab your coat and say ‘Right that’s it, I am going out’ and storm out of the house not forgetting to take the keys of the Wedge on the way out. Switch off the mobile phone. Take the Wedge out for a good run and blow the cobwebs out of the cylinders. Meet up with your mates and enjoy the rest of the evening as you would have done when you were a bachelor.
Return home in the early hours of the morning, give her the flowers and the chocolates and tell her what a fool you’ve been, with all the pressure at work and that you really love her cooking. All will be forgiven and forgotten yet you would have had one hell of an evening. Take it from a man of experience. Works almost every time.
