"wrong" car configurations

It's almost universally accepted that Porsche's persistence with sticking the engine in the back of a RWD car is wrong and all their cars should explode in a giant fireball on the outside on every corner they have the audacity to try and take... yet Porsche make it work.

Car configurations come in all flavours.

Engine in front, front wheels driven.
Engine in front, rear wheels driven.
Engine in front, all wheels driven.

Engine in rear, rear wheels driven.
Engine in rear, all wheels driven.
Engine in rear, front wheels... no, that's not right.

Engine in middle, rear wheels driven.
Engine in middle, all wheels... no, I can't think of one of those either.
Engine in middle, front... no, you're having a laugh now.

So, dear Pistonheads, can you think of any rear engined cars that drive the front wheels? Any mid engined cars that drive all wheels or the front wheels?? If not, why not?

I think all modern lambourghini's do this. As does the Audi R8.

The Panther Solo 2 was mid-engined and 4wd.

Right, that's brilliant, we've now established loads of mid-engined cars driving all wheels, it was more a brain-fart than anything, I don't reeally need any more examples.

What about the other ones, mid and rear engined cars driving the front wheels?

The Citroen DS is technically a mid-engined front wheel drive car as the transmission lies ahead of the block.

Can't think of any others...

The Veyron is 4WD isn't it?

Can't see the point in FWD with engine at the back. The best thing about FWD is the packaging, stick the engine in the back and that advantage is gone.

lots of older FWD cars, Citroen Traction Avants and Renault 4s for example technically were mid engine FWD, the engine was behind the line of the front wheels, with the gearbox in front on the axle line

the new Nissan GTR is a bit weird
front engine, rear gearbox (like the front engine porsches) but then another prop running forward to the front wheels
