Possible C70 T5 purchase

I'm entertaining doing this swap deal and going to take a look at the car tonight. I'm not hugely mechanically savy so looking for some advice on what to look out for. On paper it has a full service history, I hope this includes old reciepts and proof of what's been done and when, rather than just stamps and nothing else. It's been a while since I've bought a car too. I'm still not 100% on whether to do the deal even if everything is above board so here are the +'s and -'s as I see it.
+'s Will have 12 months tax and test on it if I go for the deal so and will hopefully provide some trouble free motoring.
T5 engine should have plenty of poke and I'm thinking it will make a good gruiser for visiting family who are 5 hours away and good for airport runs.
It's essentially a free car.

Could sell the bike and use the cash to get what I want

Although the amount I'll use it will offset the economey there's no getting away from the fact it's a 13 odd year old car, will drink fuel, and could have massive bills.

I had one the only things to watch out for were the ABS light, if it's on the ABS will need repair, £150 exchange and the MAF went twice in 2 years, £80 a pop, Oh and Very quick, but like to drink a bit(ok a lot)
If it has the stereo with the 3 cd changer in dash these fail sometimes to, but it's the best stereo of any car i've had

Viewed the car tonight as planned.
The only 'obvious' issue with the car is that the drivers electric seat isn't working, the owner says it's something to do with a sensor rather than the motor? Need to look into the expense of repairing it before make deciding on what to do. The seat was stuck pretty far forward so as a result didn't get to try out what would be my normal driving position, It didn't feel all that positive under breaking, not sure whether this is something to do with me being used to driving a lighter non-auto car? The owner tried to pass it off as the norm with automatics. On the breaking it felt like you really needed to apply alot of pressure in order to get any effect. The front discs looked in ok condition but the pads will need changed soon by the looks of it, possibly for it's MOT. I might ask the owner if he'd mind me taking it to a local garage to get looked over/investigate the seat or get the RAC out. I think it's worth over a grand but it whether I'd be better having the cash to get wahtever I wanted rather than this particular example.
Other than that it drove nice, smooth as you like, unmodified, really tidy given it's age.
Although the service book is fully stamped I'd have like to seen a pile of receipts too. The previous owner owns a local garage so when I asked question on the age of the discs, belts etc he said he could find out. Still in two minds what to do. Been offered 1k for the bike so a car with 12 months MOT and 6 months tax doesn't seem like too bad of a deal given the bike has neither.
