Long shot, some tosspot has just hit my daughters car outside the house , we have first 4 letters of the registration , I'm guessing bib won't be interested? So do I report or wait until I see the very distinctive blue mini and kick the 4 chuffing cibies he has mounted On the front in ?

I`d try the BiB. You have plenty of information for them and they`ve left the scene of an accident.

Leaving the scene of an accident + failure to provide insurance details. Six points and with a partial plate even Norfolks finest taxi service won't be too streached to find the owner.

You'll need either CCTV or an independant witness for the CPS to be interested though. I'll keep an eye out in North West Norfolk for you and ask a few body shops if a Mini has come in for repair work recently.

What's the part of the number plate you have?
BMW Mini or real one?
Dark or light blue?

Report it, they have software that could work out the rest of the reg if you know what car it is. I think it even runs close matches, i.e. if you think you saw a B but it's actually a D.

Obviously any information is to be passed on to the authorities (to make their job a lot easier) and do not even contemplate taking the law into your own hands. They'll come down a lot harder on the original victim of a crime who stands up for himself than they ever will a criminal.
