London to Silverstone: Friday evening

Has anyone had any experience with getting the train from London to Silverstone for the race weekend? I was originally planning on driving up with a mate on Thursday as we have whole weekend tickets but now I will be working in Holborn until 18:30 on Friday and plan to head up to the circuit after this.

I've had a quick look and it seems it'll be easy enough to get a train to Milton Keynes but from there it gets a bit difficult with no direct link to the circuit. Is there a bus route that heads up there anyone knows?

Ideally I would drive but this would mean heading back down to Dorset to collect my car and then driving all the way back. Plus it'll cost extra with camping fuel etc which I'd rather do without.

Any advice would be appreciated...

Would it not just be cheaper, and more convienient, to hire a car for the weekend? Pick it up from where you are working and drop it where ever would be easiest Sunday or Monday

You might find it easier to get a bus from Northampton may be not on Friday evening but there is a park and ride to the circuit at some point over the weekend.

Park and ride runs from Sixfields. Next to the football ground. Guess you could use this without a car? lol

If you're camping then get a taxi from MK.
