Looking at the carnage that followed maybe that wishbone was your lucky "break"

A lot lot worse... bottom arm sheared completely, luckily wheel just wedged into bottom of footwell and stayed upright. So 40 odd year old wishbones not a good idea on V8 race cars then rolleyes CDS ones being fitted for next race.

very luck indeed, does your Tuscan has similar suspension to the earlier Griffith and Grantura?

Excellent video Paul. and for once shows what the inside of a proper OLD Tvr looks like in the right hands.
Have you given anymore thought to strengthening the top joint as well and using the alternative balljoint I spoke to you about?

Just checked JNP 746C.

Yep it is. Chap finally gotten round to racing it (here he had not raced before he bought it) - has to be one of the hardest and fastest cars you could ever imagine start racinging.

Not sure about the graphic he has put on it.

Paul - Mega work keeping that thing behind you even for as long as you did - it should be in another post code (I know a good bit about it wink).

Yeah that's the one, Neil said the same, but it didn't pull away much on acceleration, and no problems keeping it behind, as it was holding me up loads and I'd already pulled out a gap...don't know about handling, as you say, he'd never driven it before.

If you're worried about the graphics, you've not seen what happened in the second race!?

Please don't tell me he has smashed it up!

Steve did say the chaps was pretty intimidated by the car when he bought it and drove it the first few times. Trust me, properly driven that thing is the fastest Griff I know of (way quicker than the fia stuff).

As an ex Fia car as was it was actually remarkably standard. It was running steel uprights at the rear but the front end was all pretty much as TVR Intended.

Paul. it would have been interesting to see that car up against you with a similar ability driver. I am interested to see how much difference your extra 4.5 inches makes hehe

AHRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrr st

This was my Favorite car - has been my screen saver on / off for many years. Raced against a fair few times.

What a Tool. He looked totally out of his depth in the first race vid. He should never have been allowed out in that thing.

Oh and Trust Me Alan Chalton is a pretty fast and careful driver (TR6), and this knob has wrecked his car too.

Words fail me.

That car should have been sold rather been driven by someone so far out of his depth.

[Neil - trust me I know all about the car having raced it, sat in it and picked Steve brains on it over the last 4 or 5 years].

Unfortunately Jon there are no rules to keep idiots off the race track or to keep novices to under 2 litres for example. Unfortunately trackdays mean that anyone with a quick road car thinks they can drive fast.

I think it is utter madness for someone to start racing in such a high powered car - but lots do and think others must be cheating when they just drive past them. Everyone has to start somewhere and in my view if not via karting that should be sprints and hillclimbs to prove capability; otherwise you're a risk to yourself and others.
