Seen a lovely 3-series....

Nearly a classic i believe, its a 1991 white one on a J plate.
Its a 325 in white and its parked on the road near me with a £600 sticker on it. Seems fairly cheap, could be a bit of a project.
It's been chav'd up a bit with a big exhaust and stupid steering wheel, but i'd get it back to former glory...
Must.... resist.... temptation....

Anyone had any experiance?

Thorough body check is advisable if possible, or it will end up cheaper to buy a more expensive car than to fix a rotten cheap one.
These do rot, in particular up in the rear wheel arches - inner and outer, front floors where they meet the bulkhead/sills, bulkhead - especially behind the fusebox / brake servo area and the other side behind the pedal box, inner front panels etc. Some of those are hard to see at first, so be careful, there are a few shiney on the outside but rotten underneath cars around.
They are nice to drive, especially with an E36 or Z3 steering rack fitted, they are an excellent modification on an E30.
Lovely noise from the six potters too!

I've had two E30s, the last one was a 325 and was awesome fun! Up there with my TVR.
Biggest killer is rust, rust and just as you thought you'd cut it all out....rust. Oh and rear subframe bushes which are a b
h. Oh and the 6 pots have heads made of chocolate.
On baalnce they are cracking cars though, great RWD fun!

Went to have a nosey last night in the hours of darkness.
It seemd a bit neglected, all the paint on the o/s/f wing was all pitted and someone had hashed it right up in terms of a repair.
The metal area below the rear bumpers seemed like it was bubbly metal all the way along, but then that might be normal. Saw one or two rush spots on these areas, and a little bit on the corner of the door.
Not had a daylight look yet, might tonight.... Im a little less tempted, but still a little bit tempted :P
What are they like to work on? I've seen engine pictures and they seem un-complicated with lots of room. Which i like

I'm sure there are members here with the same names as over there (think Cotty is definitely one)
