I pick the Tuscan up on Friday, and although it has been recently serviced (less than 1000 miles) I have arranged for a very knowledgeable friend, who owns his own garage, to give the car a once over, and a fresh service of the car for piece of mind. He has said just to let him know what I want checked over when he has the car.

Can anyone give any advice on what should he should be looking at when he has it, only thing I know about already is the to check the tappets.

Another item on a Tuscan service is to remove the battery, check the casing for wear, inspect the terminals and the cables for damage

Would add to Walfords comment re battery and suggest getting the Anderson plug checked as failure of these due to corrosion has led to some fires (no fusing on the cables to the plug means if they go down to earth there is nothing to stop the current flow and heat build up).
Also get the fuel hose at the fuel tank checked as they can perish badly.
Beyond that a full geo set up is advisable, make sure tyre pressures are set to 23/24 PSI (often set to 32 PSI) and a lot of talk on here about raising the steering rack to improve handling.
I am sure someone will be along before long with a long list for you but in the meantime enjoy your new toy.
