If its the same film I'm thinking off (Cage/Connery), then its rubbish.
The car chase at the start. Someone who has been in jail for 30-odd years can walk out, jump into a car and drive it well enough to out-run a modern driver in a ferrari. Nonsense.
errmmm....it's not real :PThe car chase at the start. Someone who has been in jail for 30-odd years can walk out, jump into a car and drive it well enough to out-run a modern driver in a ferrari. Nonsense.

I have to agree with williamp & say I also think it's absolute s
te. I wonder why Connery ever agreed to do it, he surely wasn't short of money.
Compared to most of his other films it's a masterpiece. Unfortunately most people forget it's too easy to get the 'bond blinkers' on and rate him as a good actor. I think he's s

te in anything but the most typecast of roles personally.I love that film as do my 3 mates I was watching it with before going out for beer.
When Connery opens the door and says "gentlemen, welcome to the rock" the scene cuts very quickly cos allegedly the cast were so stunned at his delivery they forgot to carry on win their lines.
But as a mate said last night, when rolls through the entrance with the gears and the fire preceding that moment TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OTHER SIDE I.e. From the side of the prison he was escaping from, why didn't he just walk out through it originally instead of risking life and limb?
