Cancun - Advice please
Discussion
Hi Guys
looking to head out to Cancun in November and was wondering if anyone can recommend any good hotels/resorts and if you've had any experience (good or bad) with the likes of First Choice, Thomsen, Thomas Cook etc?
It's going to be a lads break and the hotels we've seen so far are; Royal In Cancun and RUI Caibre. We've been told these are great as apart from the beach etc it's perfect for night life.
We were about to book through first choice but having read some reviews we are not sure if this is the best way to go?
Any advice is greatly appeciated.
Thanks

It's been a while now since I was there and can't comment on those specific hotels but can give some general advice.
The main Cancun strip is kind of a fugure of 7 shape with the sea on one side and the lagoon on the other, the beach side is far nicer (most hotels are on the ocean side anyhow). As a result you can be pretty far away what I'd class as the central area taxis aren't expensive but better still there's a 24hr bus that runs up and down the strip and don't thin it will ever be more than a 10 minute wait.
The main area is basically where Coco Bongo and the City club are (I believe they're both still there) There are plenty of hotles around this areas Riu Cancun is nice and generally find the Riu hotels to be pretty good. In my experience it's usually more cost effective to go direct, book your own flights, and with the accomadation direct. However with package type holidays like this you may stuggle to beat a tour operators price so shop around and compare.
