taking rubbish to skip in a van

Hi all .

Is it possible to take rubbish to the council tip in a van problem is half the stuff i have will not fit in the car or i dont wish to put it in my car but told no vans allowed at the skips without paying .

i was told sometime ago now thet could get permit from council to dispose of my own rubbish from home free of charge does anyone no if this is true and still exists .

No sarcasm intended but why not check your council's website or drive down there and ask, the rules vary and this the wrong place to post it within PH.

Cumbria County Council give out monthly permits for free to commercial vehicles to enter council refuse sites. I imagine other councils are similar

Reading Borough Council require you to ring ahead and book it (I imagine earlier than that day).

Local to us they need to see your rates bill. Just to prove you are dumping commercially.

I always take rubbish to the tip in my works van and all they do is ask for my post code. Just go and as long as it is rubbish from home i dont see why there shoud be a problem.If they get stty just say your not fortunate enough to own a car!

It depends where you go at our local dump you have to have a permit to use a van at the dump, but these are easy enough to get from the council.
