Hi

My driver's door glass squeeks when raised or lowered. Its a glass on rubber sort of sound and is very loud and very close to my ear.

This is a small thing but hugely annoying. I've tried cleaning it with Autoglym fast glass, glass polish and plastic/rubber cleaner but its still the same.

Anyone got a better suggestion?

Thanks

Had same problem. Holts do a rubber and trim lubricant which is lanolin based in an aerosol can. Works a treat! Got mine from Halfords if I remember correctly.

Be careful not to use too much. I tried the Halfords version which I think was the cause of melting the adhesive used to stick the felt window protector into the channel inside the door. Glass on metal when you close the door , door trim off job, don't you just love it.

In my case I was using it to keep the seal rubber flexible to stop leaks into the door. Who was it said 'if it ain't bust, don't fix it'?

There's another thread on this somewhere. I seem to remember 2 recommendations: (1) curtain rail lubricant from John Lewis, and (2) baby oil!! Haven't tried any of these, not having had any lubrication problems yet!

I had the same problem and used silicone spray (same as curtain rail lubricant I think).

Worked very well.

But I also noticed that the rubber guide at the front of the window had dropped and so the glass was having to force its way up against friction from the rubber. Might be worth a look.

Hi

To report back, Halford no longer stock the Holts stuff but do their own spray on lubricant for plastic and rubber in a bright yellow aerosol (Its even got a little picture of an window on the can)

Tried it last night - problem solved.

Thanks again
