Hi,
I've had the tam for 2 months or so now, having part ex'd a E46 M3 convertible.
Finally got round to posting some pics up, (on a hearts and minds mission from my previous lead balloon post too!)

She has the odd mark here and there but is looking good i think and is in good mechanical order.

Next step are weels being refurbed this week (would anthracite look any good do you think?)
JP or blueflame exhaust later this month.
I also need to get the seat backs repaired as a previous owner has attacked them with the roof bar (see final pic) Any suggestions of how to do this?

Anyone know of this car before me?

Many thanks, wealth of knowledge on this forum and really appreciate the advice/comments

Would suggest Shadow Chrome for the wheel refurb, think it would work really well.

I'm "old skool" and can't get on with the current trend for black or anthracite coloured alloys. For me it has to be either silver or if it has to be dark centres then only on polished split rims!

Shadow chrome looks nice close up but I think from a distance and when driving it just looks like dirty wheels. I dont think you can beat silver spiders on a dark colour car.

A year ago I had the seat backs lined with yellow leather (my Tam is Halcyon Midas pearl) at D&C Trim, Blackpool - they look fantastic. Some have the seat back painted as per the body colour, but this can be relatively expensive and can scratch easily if you're not careful. I paid for a full hide so have enough leather to replace one seat back if required.

Strange but I have my spiders in shadow chrome for use in the winter as they dont show up the dirt very much and so stay looking good for longer, as with all things aesthetic though its down to individual preference.

Nice looking motor, I'd also stick with silver wheels

Before

After

As I said above, I just prefer silver, especially with dark body colours.

Snakes they are battleship gray and would not look good on any car I can think of, while everyone has there own preferences that is not a true reperesentation of shadow chrome.

You are right re the quality of my recolouring. Battleship grey is not shadow chrome. I was trying to give an impression of anthracite but probably wide of that mark as well.

Sorry snakes wasnt having a go just didnt seem a fair bite at the cherry for either anthracite (dont like) or shadow chrome.
Will try to find pic of mine with the shadow chromes on and post up.
Any way if I tried to photo shop them you would probably have green wheels and not be able to see the car.

Paul
If you are up near Cambridge any time you are welcome to stick one of the shadow chrome spiders on to see what it looks like.

Personally I prefer silver on darker colour cars, and anthracite/black on light coloured cars as it gives a better contrast.

In this case - Silver IMHO
