Have never been out on track as a driver, tempted to book onto a novice session at Japfest2 next weekend. It lasts about 15 minutes. My car is a 2002 Celica T Sport, brakes have been upgraded to ebc green stuff and mtec dimpled and grooved discs, and all 4 tyres are toyo t1-s.

What i would like to know is if people would recommend donnington as a suitable course for a novice and what else should i know?

Didnt go on track at japfest earlier this year at castle coombe as there is no run off on many of the corners.

rearrange this sentence;
"tears, end, in , will "
seriously dont do this as your first trackday, these events are often full of chavs who cant drive and who will never have seen a track briefing, or take any notice.

do a proper track evening there first with one of the regular providers, with instruction if need be.
have done laps at castle combe before at Japfest and there are often idiots out trying to drift etc for the crowds, in amongst people trying to drive normally. Donington is probably no safer than combe if you go off at high speed into craner curves there is a good chance of rolling your car in the gravel.

try blyton, nothing to hit there,£100 midweek, or one of the donnington events with BAT etc. alternative is the novice trackdays run by MSV at their tracks, should be fine with other novices and proper marshalling. good luck
