Hi, has any one got a paint tin lid as their bell housing inspection cover?????
Just had to have a look at my clutch bearing coz of a squeak and discovered some one in the past had used a paint tin lid and a load on instant gasket stuff, to plug the 4" hole in the bottom of the bell housing.

So now a need to buy the proper thing and cant find any reference, so who knows???? You must be able to buy the proper thing?

It did have - a large grommet for want of better words with TVR moulded into it.

Cheers everyone, I'll see what I can do, dont like the idea of a glued in tin lid, but its better than nothing.

Thanks again

Ha ha ha ... exactly what my car had fitted when I got it!!!

The ONLY reason I now have the proper TVR gromit is I saw one for pennies on ebay and was being a bit of a tart so bought it. Otherwise I'd have been happy to leave it open.

Also good for allowing oil to drain out when the rear crank seal goes wink

Cheers,
Sam
