Best car to insure a 18 year old

So, i passed my test this week, and now obviously want a car. But i dont know which car would be best/cheap to insure. Any one know of any cars that are faily cheap to insure? £1000-2000 ish?

It's going to be expensive whatever you buy. Try putting a parent as a named driver and limiting your mileage

Something that lots of other teenagers are unlikely to have crashed? Something a bit less common as a first car like an older volvo etc?

Insurance, I presume.

Avoid hatchbacks is the general advice I give, but if you do look at hatchbacks, insurers like small engines for your first year. Speak to Admiral, they're probably your best bet, and add both your parents onto the policy. If your annual mileage can be as low as 8000, that would be ideal.

Quantum kit car based on a fiesta normally xr2 its like a mx5 but fwd. Can get insurance for around £750 tpft. Theres a couple on ebay.
