CP5200 calipers on Cerb 4.5

It seems the caliper overhaul kits come in two types depending on the disk thickness (28mm or 32mm) anyone know what the thickness of a standard (2000) 4.5 Cerb front disk is? They are the vented and cross drilled ones.

I have 330x28s in mine. I don't think 32s fit. Might be worth having a chat with BG Dev if you're not already doing so.

not seal kit but pistons are longer on one version

I can tell you what the thickness of a new drilled, single-part, disk on a 1998 4.5 is if that is any help.

When I had my disks made up Hi-Spec measured my old ones and said they were standard Ap size disks at 322 / 30mm


According to AP themselves... "Note: - Minimum thickness on a 30mm disc run in the CP5200 caliper is 28.5mm."

A Friend on mine on here emailed them regarding replacement disks. This was just part of the reply.

Any one ever tried a set of Supra disc's ?

I have been talking to a mate who has a Supra with a LS1 in it and we think the discs may fit as they both have the same PCD and there is only 1mm in disc diameter difference Offset wise unsure but he has a old set of discs i am going to trail fit in the winter time. He bought a set on bell houseing for les than £150 so much cheaper than buying from TVR Indy'S if they do work out.

i ve looked into it also it seems a few jap cars have similar disks especially lexus and infinity cars

Will have to report back when i get hold of the disc's and can measure up and see, Yeah seems the cars under the Toyota Umbrella.

After much messing around I'm sorted, thanks all. The disks on mine are 30mm thick by 330mm diameter, after a light skim they are 29mm now but nice and smooth and I'm £80 lighter rather than £500 lighter. Big cheer for Stanwood Engineering in Bawtry (01302 710661) for sorting that aspect. AP Racing tell me there are not two different piston kits for the two apparently different calipers despite them listing two. Apparently a cock up in the catalogue. Anyway calipers now rebuilt with new pistons and seals and normal braking has resumed, in fact way better than it has ever been. Always thought the brakes were rather lame for a 195mph car.

Finally getting there after 4 years of ownership, it goes, stops, looks good and no judders, bumps, squeaks or other assorted anomalies, even wipes it's windscreen and then parks the wipers. Now for fixing the aircon, again.
