2003 Fiesta - subframe?
Discussion
A colleague had a front off side bump in his 03 Fiesta a while back. This father is law has been repairing it for him and have replaced the wishbone, upright, strut, ARB & drop link, steering arm, TRE and steering rack.
It's all back together but the tracking is way out. With the steering wheel straight, and wheels straight ahead the nearside track rod end would have about 10mm gap to the steering arm, and correspondingly there isnt enough thread on the steering arm on the offside.
The replacement steering rack was from a breaker so may be damaged internally, though externally there was no evidence of it.
Before he drops the sub-frame again to change the rack for another one, I've suggested he loosen the sub-frame and see how much movement there is, and while its up check that the floorplan looks symetrical where it should be. Any idea how much movement there should be on its mounts?
