Alpina body kit replacement
Discussion
Is anyone aware of another importer or source of Alpina body panels besides BMW/Sytner?
I have a gunmetal grey Roadster S that is quickly approaching its trade in day and I need to get it a new Alpina front spoiler. The price demanded by BMW / Sytner is a little eye-watering for what is essentially a piece of moulded plastic.
I could also use a wheel refurb!
If anyone has any suggestions - i'm in the Cambridge area although could certainly travel - please let me know!?
Thanks all.
Rich

Hi
You'd be absolutely amazed at how much it cost to develop that little bit of moulded plastic though! wind tunnel testing, design and development work, tooling and manufacturing all cost a LOT of money! what the piece isn't is some plastic put into a machine without any thought...
Alpina parts are exclusive and there's no unofficial channels to buy genuine pieces from in the UK as far as I'm aware, so perhaps try and see if you could source any cheaper from a German dealer? failing that, you'll have to scour the breakers yards and ebay in case one turns up etc.
Wheel refurbishment is much easier, I have a set of 5 Hartge wheels being totally refurbished right now and will be going to a customer in Scotland, if you are looking for a good reputable and experienced wheel refurbishment specialist, drop me a line and I can show you some links of some rather lovely and sometimes very rare BMW wheels that have been done beautifully!
Cheers, Dennis !

For the spoiler your best bet is a sympathetic UK dealer with all the discounts he can apply. Alternatively a mate in a bodyshop might be able to order it trade and paint it for you - if you know anyone.
Bottom line - ALPINA parts are expensive!
To be fair, I ordered one from BMW for my 1984 B9. It came exquisitely packed in a massive, padded box with a fitting kit. The delivery cost alone for a parcel that big from Europe would be huge.
