Job Vacancy alert.
Discussion
Suffolk County Council are seeking a replacement C.E.O. Andrea Hill has 'walked' following investigations into alleged bullying (no evidence found)and a further investigation of her expenses (no evidence of dishonesty found). It is reported that a substantial pay off will be going to her which could amount to one years salary (around 218K) She had worked for the Suffolk C.C. for about two years.
Our M.P. stated that the incoming C.E.O. will be expected to consider and implement the County Council's new strategic direction and will be working for a 'reasonable salary', presume this will be a lot less than 225k then.

A slight tangent perhaps, but I have wondered how difficult it would be to audit costs and make a 20% cut in expenditure without making anyone redundant or reducing service levels. Things like check supplier costs, not doing extravagant things like branded chocolate(!), etc.
You could be the ideal candidate for the job! The former C.E.O. was getting rid of most direct labour, closing down libraries, closing recycle centres, sacking lollipop people (big saving there
)All this + reams of other cost cutting exercising and you would have thought 'good job' perhaps. Unfortunately whilst these cuts were going on the C.E.O. was enjoying the huge salary (for a Council worker)and luxury hotels, far in excess of what would be considered reasonable costs in the form of expenses whilst attending seminars, corporate events and the like. Left us Community Charge payers feeling just a tad peed off. So look forward to some changes under the new C.E.O.Kwai Chang Caine said:
Do you guys think these problems would be solved by directly electing these people?
£225K would attract some sharp business folk to sort these messes out!
The Council clearly thought that when they employed Hill, what they didn't reckon on was that said Executive knew best each and every time apparently. She had the full support of the former leader of the Council, but he jumped ship pretty smartly when the first whiff of trouble was smelt. So the new C.E.O. must be skilled in leading the elected members whilst giving the impression that their instructions are being followed.£225K would attract some sharp business folk to sort these messes out!
Anyhow, my guess is the new salary will be around the 110k mark.

She'll be in a similar role within 6 months - mark my words. To bulls
t at a CEO level takes a certain skillset.
It will be a very brave/foolhardy public service to employ this particular Executive. Most likely Hill would perform extremely well in the private sector though and feel more 'at home'. She is one very ruthless individual in business by all accounts. She'll be in a similar role within 6 months - mark my words. To bulls
