Slightly weird number plate question...

I need to get a pair of number plates made up for my car, since I have changed the registration. Now is it just my eyes, or do the dealer plates seem better quality than those made up by a garage or one of the online places, for example? I can't really explain why, but they just seem to look better to me..?

Oh, and whilst we are here, will an Audi dealer make me up a set of plates? And how much are we talking for the privilege? I don't want to look stupid by walking in and asking!

Its just your eyes - if anything dealer plates look worse.

Get plates without any dealer logos and numbers on to look really cool.

some of the cheapies look bad , you can get coloured vynil stuck on top , or under the clear perspex

if you are fussy id certainly shop around to make sure you get the type you like most

I'd like to shop around, but I'd sort of feel like I'd be wasting their time asking to see examples, then telling them I'll think about it...

Has anyone had any experiences with getting Audi to make their plates? Or any decent online plate makers?

OK, perhaps it's not dealer plates, but certain plates look more 'glossy' than other plates, which in my crazy mind makes them look better. Eg (from Good Number plate thread):
