With Andy's foot in plaster we will need a little help organising on the day at BBWF

1. Someone on the "gate" handing out welcome packs
2. A couple of people to help with parking - not full time, taking turns. One person to start at 9:30. [thanks Flying Banana - one down, one more needed]
3. Someone with a sound meter to do the "loudest wedge" metering. [Thanks Chedder]
4. A few people to help set up the function room - usually not much work just helping bring the PA system in.
5. Tea and Coffee Stall [Amy has volunteered, could do with one more?]

Incidentally if anyone has some disco lights/mood lights they can bring along to augment my ones please let me know.

I'll also be running a slideshow at the evening 'do' so if you have a digital camera bring along the USB lead and we'll add any suitable photos to the slideshow. See me at around 5:30/6pm to transfer the photies, I'll need JPGs.

Please can you clarify and define the term 'suitable photos' ?

Pictures of pens without the lids on..Or a pencil with a chewed end..Or maybe a dirty pencil eraser..Or a picture of me getting the cane at secondary school as punishment for these three crimes...

Just keep it clean - no bedroom shots, Dutch people in underpants tugging away, etc etc ;^)

Slideshow? teacher cd player and a flashing lightbulb? (if youre lucky)nuts Am I the only one who's thinking why hasn't the hotel provided their in house disco? surely bringing them a captive audience drink and guests for the hotel they should do this foc. We have had disco's - last year (not that good admittedly but after a few rusty nails we had a few up on the floor) and better 3 years ago. However the Hotel don't have a full disco setup available - or at least they have never offered one. We get the use of the room PA plus whatever we bring along. We don't have the budget to hire a full-blown disco.

The slideshow gets run during the dinner so it's more of a conversation piece/provoker earlier in the evening.

I know I dont get out much but I think saying we had a disco last year is stretching it a bitwhistle. 3 years ago was the Hawaiian theme right? the disco, yard of ale etc made the night fantastic. I still have a chuckle to myself about the auction and raffle that Darren (BadRed) did. I dont remember paying for the night but I could be wrong, still if we do need to pay to have a disco why not? I dont think we should wait for the hotel to offer just demand that the hotel contribute for the reasons I said earlier.

Are the hotel letting us use the over head projector?..We could run some G-force sound to light graphics..What wattage speakers and P.A system is it..I was a DJ in the eighties ( not that im volunteering) but its surprising what you can do with a mirror ball and some pin spots..Rope lights and sound to light boxes..What is the selection of music?

The system the Hotel have is very basic, more for confrence work than Disco. That's why Adam provides and I bring his small disco set up!

If people want a full blown Disco this will cost money and as Adam rightly say's we dont have a budget big enough.

Also do we have enough people who stay, who want to pay for a full blown disco?

I was thinking more of hiring some lights which is a hell of a lot cheaper than a full blown set up..Some are under a £10ea for the day..Its about minimum equipment and maximum effect..A 12" mirror ball and some pin spots would create a really good atmosphere..Im looking at some optons..Its a shame i got rid of all mine..Mind you they would be over twenty years old now and probably wouldnt work..hehe..Ill see what i can do with a £50 budget..We can charge a £1 to get in just like the eighties..music..party

We can't charge this year, as it's publicised as being FREE! Also there may not be fifty people there!

Not sure when i will get there but can "relieve" (wey hey) the gate for an hour if need be.
I'm sure shifting and clear up will be a "all hands on deck" affair.
Although I refuse to mop up OP's puke mind you !! (got a feeling one or two may get sucked into the "try one of these rusty's" trap !!)

I'll carry Andy's beer from the bar because of his poorly foot.... ok i might "loose" a drop on route due to evaporation and spillage wink joking aside I'll fit in where I can on the day.

As an electronics engineer I also maybe able to help with the wiring of Adams's flashing bulb - sorry disco light laugh
