I am 22 and I need to find insurance for my 3.0 z4 again. Last year I paid £2700 for a years insurance and im trying to not have a repeat of that considering I have heard of people on here insured on astons at my age for leas.

Does anybody have an suggestions of where to look to get a good price? Or any examples of where you haves saved a few quid with your insurance?

Limit your mileage if possible. My insurance (17, 1.1 Pug 206) dropped by c£1700 when I got a mileage limit of 6000pa smile

My 3.2 A3 cost £850 to insure and I'm 23, make sure you put a parent on your policy if they have a clean licence/no accidents, that usually brings it down.

2700 sounds absolutely ridiculous, I only paid £1150 when I was 21 on my car, and had to declare a write off too.

I'd recommend calling Noel Dazely. They're a broker like Adrian Flux but have been much better to deal with in my previous experience.

Best way to bring your premiums down is to stop getting points then.

It's nothing to do with your age I'd say, it's the fact that you seem to struggle to abide by the laws of the road.

Jeez, steady on wink

As has been mentioned, get your parents or other older experienced drivers on the policy, experiment with different combinations to see which is best. 6000 miles pa is the best number, though 8000 is rarely any worse.

I Paid 4K on an E36 M3 EVO at 22 , which was silly as I was a perfectly sensible driver who was at no greater risk of crashing than anyo....

Thanks for the advice....I got the points 3 years ago..I'm pretty sure my age is not helping me in this situation.

I have added my mum to the policy already. The problem I'm having is that I do about 8-10k a year!

Try Greenlight. I found out about it from a post on PH and it saved me £300 over what my Admiral renewal quote was. All other insurers I tried could not even match my Admiral quote.

I am shocked, shocked I say.

All I could get at 22 was a 106 Rallye.

Problem A) You have points
Problem B) Age
Problem C) Its a BMW, costs more than say a ford to repair

Just have a search around, insurance is going up and up...

If you're 22 with 6 points then you're going to get bent over trying to insure any car, especially a large engined BMW, there's no avoiding it.

Its not all bad news, I've just insured my Cerbera 4.2 for £1200 at 21. Try Admiral/Elephant/Bell and raise your voluntary excess a touch.

Im with admiral/elephant now and no other insurance company Can get close. I had this last year with my r1 and somebody suggested one I had never heard of and it saved me 400 quid.

So I will give greenlight a go, thanks. Any others that people can think of?

I would love to get a z4m/noble or something but I can't justify 4/5k insurance
