I need a chimney for my wood burner that I take camping. It's been suggested that spiral ducting would do the job.

Question is, how strong is the stuff? I'll need about 2-3m of it and it needs to be able to support itself.

Steel spiralled ducting will be fine, 3 or 4 metres should be able to support itself no problem.

Looked pretty strong but wasn't certain - thanks for the advice

Get some nice polished stainless flue sections made.
Looks the part and will last too.
The galvanised Spirax type stuff is fine for chucking up into a ceiling void, but not at all pleasant to look at in my opinion.

That will easily support itself.

How much do you need?

You can get 3m for the price of the 1.5m shown on the ebay ad if you go to a suitable wholesaler.

The stuff in the ebay ad is for 2 x 1.5m, so a pretty decent price I thought? I can't find it any cheaper elsewhere once you take postage and vat into account.
