Thinking of asking this bloke about his bonnet "is that an S4 bonnet on an S3?"

wouldn't look right on an S1 Andrew, but i do beleive that is an S4 bonnet. at least it'll take the heat off Stu

They put this bonnet on S4 and some of the later S3C models. As this is a 1990 model, it could be an S3C i.e. cats and no air flow meters I think?

Mine also has this bonnet, most refer to it as the S4 bonnet.

Have that bonnet on my 1990 manufactured (registered 2nd Jan '91) S3C. So it's possible.

Would it be even cooler with a (symmetrical) V8S bulge in the middle? Light blue touch paper and retire to a safe distance.

You only need the hump for the (non existant unless your Italian) supercharger

Hi All.

Seems to be a few S3's with the later (S4) bonnet. Like to think mine is a limited edition with bespoke spider cracks around the bonnet catches!

As far as I can make out, some late S3's were fitted with them from new but it depends who you talk to? Just goes to show, no two seem to be the same but that's part of the attraction. If I had a pound for every time someone commented on it, recon I would have enough cash to get it re-sprayed

If you really want to confuse people get a V8 bonnet on your V6. No idea how mine came to have the V8 bonnet, it was on when I bought her, but I am glad it has as it certainly looks better. Caused a few comments when she turned up at SCH2011, looked like an 8 but didnt sound right. As far as I am aware she seems to be the only V8 bonneted V6, so if I could get a SCH class included for the best V6 that looks like a V8 I would finally be in with a chance!
