I do car real good ten pound boss

Was in a retail park yesterday and was approached by one of those car cleaners, he wanted ten pounds, yes ten pounds to do JUST the outside.
"Car wash?" No thanks "I do car real good, ten pound boss"
I later hear him telling someone else 6 pound
I decided in the end to buy some car cleaning products and do it myself as the weather was nice, I gave up and went to my local car wash.
Now I know they leave swirl marks, but they do a better job than I do in less than half the time, but does anyone use those guys in car parks, do they use the same bucket of water all day?
I always just see them pushing about a trolley with brown water

I was passenger in a mates car a while back when he went to a eastern european hand car wash type place. He swore by them and reckoned they were excellent, car was always 'mint' afterwards.
To my horror they washed the wheels free of grit with the same shammy & bucket they did the paintwork with - and they did the wheels whilst they were going round the car!

Either people opening their doors against mine, or the girlfriend hitting her bag against the body work when getting in.
It got to an obsessive stage where I would park miles away from any cars, but would always come back to find a car parked next to mine rather than the 50 other empty spaces or find a random trolley next to my car.
And when the car was parked at home the cats would use it as a climbing frame....
So what's my point? Well I've just accepted that cars will get marks and after the 100th mark you stop caring
There's a group of Poles set up a car cleaning business in an old forecourth in Plymouth.
£6 for a normal wash. They do a cracking job, including inside the doors and the sills.
Mate of mine went for a full valet on his golf convertible prior to selling it. His other car is a Bristol 410 and he knows a clean car when he sees one. Even he was very impressed.
Unfortunately I don't live there anymore and have to do my own wash.

I wouldn't use these TBH.
But I went with my OH to get her new (to her) Yaris done by one of these old petrol station jobbies, they did a cracking job for 15 quid inside and out, used clean water etc as well.
I would have washed it myself but I couldn't be arsed spending hours washing a Yaris.

They got rid of the africans from tesco as people complained about being hassled by them.
I never used them, and i swore blind i would never take my car for one of the said eastern european (and beyond) stlye car wash. Untill one day last winter, my megane f1 was so dirty i couldnt see the reg plate and the dirt was sound bound on it wouldnt jet wash off properly.
I took it to one local to my girlfriends house, and i was very impressed. The wheels on my car were stupid to clean (black and lots of brake dust due to the drilled brembos), and they really went to town on it. They did the outside, twice to get the dirt off then clean again to make it shine, used new shammy leathers etc and got it looking brand new. I couldnt believe it. And i often go back there.

t. They didnt even touch the wheels. But for my corsa run around i just take it to the jet wash and pay 3 quid and do it myself. Doesnt need to look fancy.

It has become very popular with some friends who normally, are very particular over anything going near their cars.

However much money I have/had, I do it myself, sense of satisfaction, gets me in the open air, bit of activity and I dont have to wait for 30 minutes in the queue at the local hand wash place, I see families sat there for ages waiting for their old heap to be cleaned, ffs go home, get a bucket, some soap, water and a sponge you lazy people !

I'm sure they did, those acid based wheel cleaners do miracles with both the dirt and wheels (be sure to check for acid marks around the edges and/or on your brakes).homerjay said:
