A few of the lads watched the start of the race from this area this year.

Said it was a great place to view and the camping looked good.

Now this is inside the BSJ site, so is oit just turn up and take your plaot or is it numbered at this point?

Also how long has this viewing area been in place?

BSJ has never been on my list of places to stay due to the walk to get anywhere in the past but this might change my opinion.

Thanks

The viewing has been available for 2 or 3 years. I have a private camp site at the top end of the site which is shown on beermountain. There is also another area which is part of the general area. This year it did appear that the ACO did not allow people into this area until friday but it may be different next year.

Hope this helps.

Arrived at BSJ on wednesday and just asked the security guy if we could camp down the area near the viewing area like last year didn't have an issue.... Especially since the 'hi mum' gazebo was visible on tv biggrin camped there 2 years in a row and wouldnt change, best place during the night nip down have some food then run back up and watch some more racing.

It's a nice place to watch, and close to the back fence to Mulsanne if that's your thing.

We arrived mid afternoon on the Friday and camped right next to the viewing area. Definately the best spot we've ever had.

The viewing area has been there since 2007/8 but this year they didn't seem to be asking for tickets. There was an Brit running a small catering van on the banking who was good for cold beers and early morning coffees.

The views of the track are really good and that end of BSJ is much more civilised. Would definately reccomend it just don't tell everyone! smile
