As per the story - are we going to see a moment where moving to india isnt financially viable anymore?

The cost of commercial property in Burnley is believed to be as cheap as Mumbai, with rental costs as low as £4 per square foot, while research in March found that Burnley has the cheapest homes to buy
in England and Wales.

According to property website Mouseprice, four out of five of the most affordable streets can be found in the Lancashire town. The cheapest homes were on Angle Street, where the average property cost £32,400 last year.
Yes it's an interesting one. But if its a cost thing then why not move from Mumbai to one of the many other Indian cities offering such services at a much lower cost?

I think these companies have finally realised that when customers look for banking/telephone/insurance etc services, where the call centre is plays a huge part in that decision. I know it does for me.

So they are comparing a high populated commercial city with Burnley. Isn't that like saying it's cheaper to own a field in Wales than an office in Leeds.

I can't imagine the accents or work ethic will improve massively either.

Bloody hell, another call centre full of people with impenetrable accents. . . . . .

To be honest, with the way that 'positive discrimination' works with some companies and hiring around here, you are not likely to notice much of a change in accent.

I was thinking that, but probably for different reasons. smile Wonder if callers from Burnley will sound any different?

I work from home and get several calls a day from people with Indian accents - I used to be nice as they're just doing a job but often they just put the phone down when you say no so now I just put the phone down as soon as they start to speak.
