Is anybody familiar with the fitting below, I brought a braai back from south Africa and so far have struggled to get a connection for the gas bottle , in SA it just screwed to the top of the bottle ,

Is there any other way of getting it connected up to a calor gas bottle or similar ?

For use with camping etc ..

Have tried a couple of shops like b&q etc but no joy, hopefully some one has a solution as I would love to get it working as we loved cooking on it in SA.

Why not ditch that fitting, and replace it with a conventional (in the UK) fitting onto the flexi pipe?

Your gas bottle supplier will loads of regulators that will fit the bottle, all you need do is fix it to the rubber pipe with a clip.

Why can't you just cut the end off or replace the whole pipe?
more pictures might help here.

But....why can't you just replace everything back from the burner? Rubber gas pipe, two clips and a regulator?

Is it a BSP thread?

Go into your local Plumb Center and they'll be able to tell you. If so you'll probably be able to use a bush of some sort and a LPG hose connector to connect to the bottle regulator.

Bad experience with them?

Sadly I only have the choice of Plumb Centre or City Plumbing. They can be shocking on times!

No independents? City are as ste as Travis in my experience.

Back on topic... if that isn't a BSP thread, I'd get one cut on it. SAhouldn't be difficult. Or go down Paul's route, although that will rely on the burner having a BSP thread.
