Hankook Ventus Evo S1 - experiences?

New time tyre is here and in my research the Evo S1 keeps cropping up as a viable alternative to Conti/Bridgestone/Michelin etc.

Before I take a bit of a gamble I though I would canvass opinions from the PH collective.

Already had a look on tyrereview but some of the review styles don't always fill me with confidence!

I was going to get a set of these during my last tyre chage, but they were out of stock. I know a few people who have tried a set of these and there seems to be a bit of mixed review.

A few friends have tried them on light hatchbacks and said they were brilliant. Some have tried them on slightly heavier cars and are generally unimpressed. Think wear is a bit quick on them though, from what I've heard. Very good value for money IMO, preforms very well for the money. But as I said, they didnt have in stock when I was wanting a set, therefore its not exactly first hand experience I'm talking from.

I have some of these on my E55k Estate, I have to say that I am impressed, The grip is good in both wet and dry.
How long they will last I am not sure, I will report back when they have come to the end of their life.

Not with the S1, but I have had the V12 Evo fitted for a while now on the 6 MPS. Far better tyre than the BS RE050A it replaced. As grippy in the dry, grippier in the wet, quieter, smoother riding and so far wearing a little better too. Only downside is slightly less braking grip on shiny tarmac, but it's very marginal. I hear the S1 is good too, but if you can get the right size, try the V12.
