I have a collection of around 90 original Porsche Racing Posters.

Most of these date from the late 70's to early 80's and were generally produced by the factory to celebrate Porsche wins in a variety of races around the world. They were only printed in fairly limited numbers being sent out to dealers, race teams and selected owners, I don't belive you could ever purchase them.

I'm looking to potentially sell the lot, please use this link to view the majority, the rest are framed and do not actually photograph that well, please excuse my toes in some of the images.....!

http://www.motortrak.com/porsche_posters/

Some of these are quite rare and go for 'big bucks' take a look at some specialist dealers who have some of my posters priced.

and

http://www.vpracing.com/

Would consider a sensible offer for them all, they are each 40" x 30" so they will cover a lot of wall space.

Thanks for looking.

I know it sounds daft but I really don't know what I should sell them for.

Some of these specialist retailers sell them for anywhere between $60 to $700 plus, I've seen some of mine advertised for $400 plus.

I've currently got them named on my insurance and valued at £10,000....

What I don't want to do is put people off with a big figure, but at same time don't want to be mugged off letting them go for not that much.

Ideally anyone who wants to make an offer would be a good starting point?

Sorry if this sounds a bit vague.

dude, one word:

auction.

do any of the big houses do one at rennsport reunion in the usa? find a pork based auction & go from there.

personally i enjoyed building up my collection & half the fun is in that part of it but if you want numbers like that i think this would be the place to start, or you could ask one of the big aircooled dealers if they'd like to market it for you in the likes of motorsport or octane etc.

did you read this months "man cave" article in octane? get in contact with the dealer featured in that-he's into orig motorsport posters

Cheers for the advice.

I did contact the guys that run the Historics Auctions at Brooklands and the chap that looked after Automobilia was going to come round and take a look. Never did!

I'll take a look in Octane and find out more on that guy you mention.

As I say don't want to put people off with a big number, but there are 90 of them.

Cheers

I have had quite a few mails asking to buy individual posters, am happy to look at that with anyone interested. Would prefer offers made on individual items, ideally would love to sell the lot in one go!

Hi there. I can see you are looking to sell all posters in one go. I have been looking for this kind of collection for a while and would be happy to take them off you for £5k if they are in perfect condition. Would that be of interest?

If not, then maybe I could buy half of them?.....

Thanks

Hi

Thanks for your interest.

The majority are in very good condition beraing in mind they are 30 years plus old. There are a couple that are 'poor' with creased edges and only one that is torn.

I've had interest from quite a few people to buy one or two individually.

£5,000 is a bit low for them all, the 15 or so that I had framed, the framing alone cost over £100 each.

I might be able to do something for half the collection. PM me if you want to talk monies.

Thanks

Neil

I would contact Bonham's Automobilia department in London if I were you before selling them.

They would be very interested in a big collection like this I expect and should be able to give you a good idea of value. Plus they have the Goodwood Revival auction coming up in September which would be a good place to sell.

If you go the auction route, can you keep us posted on where they will be for sale?
