Drinking too much coffee
Discussion
Started with the instant but now I'm on three or four large white Americano's a day while at work and a couple of espresso's at home. I must pay a visit to a coffee place over the weekend too for a large Americano.
I knew they said coffee was addictive, but I never really believed them.......

It's also potentially dangerous if you drink it in very large quantities or just very strong. Years and years ago I used to go through at least 3 8 cup jugs of percolated coffee a day. I ended up in front of the Doc and 3 weeks off work. Rarely drink it now but lots of strong tea (which is just as bad really) and copious quantities of red wine which cancels out the tea in my mind.
One large wet latte every morning with the paper in my local coffee shop, wakes me up for the day but no more coffee after that.
In the papers from time to time they claim coffee prevents cardiac's, alzheimer's and cancer, then again I've been a veggie since 1995, never smoked and gave up alcohol three years ago, as I was drinking on average a pint a month, so why not stop all together.
Coffee however, I will not give up!

I often crossed the line into double figures when it came to cups of coffee during working hours.
It can break the monotony of sitting at a desk all day too. Others would go for a smoke break, I went for coffee.
I try to limit myself now though.
Having said that, all this talking about it is making me crave a steaming hot roasty espresso (with just a smidgen of sugar).

I order an Americano with a splash of cold milk. Am I doing it wrong?
Not if you like it.ETA - According to the Coffee machine in the kitchen - I've had 6 (american sized) cups of coffee today...I feel such a lightweight compared to some of you

I have three cups of coffee and a cigar before I even contemplate starting the day!
Is this bad do you think?
During the day I reckon I drink one coffee an hour (after breakfast 'natch) so about 15 - 17 cups of Nescafe a day. If we go out anywhere then a decent brew is first on the agenda.
I "could" have an addictive personallity.

The only coffee you drinking is a couple of espressos so no big deal - your fetish for White Americanos is your own business but not sure how you get away with it at work..I knew they said coffee was addictive, but I never really believed them.......
PS: 2 espressos a day (either on ice in the summer or straight in winter) is a minimum for me - 1 in the morning and 1 at around 2-3pm.
Cut the funny milky and sugary drinks they call coffee in the UK and you will be fine.

Ah....An Americano with milk?
Yeah if I remember rightly.TBH I was so staggered at being told the drink I was ordering didn't exist and I was somehow stupid, despite the fact that the drink itself is only on the menu in the US because it is "European", my flabber was too ghasted to argue the point so I sought solice in a cinnamon swirl.
