Rear Spoiler/Wing - rod end fixing specs/dimensions
Discussion
1)Anybody got the dimensions specs for the rod ends that connect the support pillars to the wing itself?
2)Would I be right in thinking getting the old ones out might be tough (alloy seizing etc)?
3) Anybody know of an engineering parts supplier in the Bristol/Bath/Gloucester triangle that might have such things in stock?

Indeed, got two out but will be giving it to an engineering work shop to get the others out so I can Give them back to Andy (cheers budd).
I think they are M6 but they are M8 holding the supports to the car. My originaly were M6 so had to get new bolts and drill the clam.
Rob. Noble sell them but are expensive. if you find a machine shop you could probably get them made and make a group lot as not all of us may have tried to fit the new supports yet.

My highly calibrated eyeball says the thread into the upright is M8 but the bore of the hole is M6 so my idea of using rod ends is difficult as I am yet to find somebody that supplies unequal ones. I'm thinking of using M8 and enlarging the hole in the wing bracket but clearance of the rod end to the wing itself will probably be an issue. Could just use the Noble originals but with two failures I'm not 100% happy with that. Will think and research a bit more.
Rob - how did the rod ends fail ?
Tux gave me some of these to extend the wing supports
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/10-M8-THREADED-BAR-ROD-STUD-...
so they must be M8
plenty for sale here

Andy - thanks for the offer, what do you reckon are the chances of Bondy getting them out in good condition
Gadge - Just stopped in a layby and walking back to the car thought the wing looks lopsided and both bolts on offside had sheared, too many bumpy roads I guess but suspect there was some stress because one fracture sits flush when the other has a gap approaching 1mm. When the adjustment in height is limited to a half turn of the thread maybe it was set wrong. Hard to believe that once one had gone the other would then fail. Ref the ebay list lots are female fittings and none are unequal i.e. 8mm thread and 6mm bore from what I can see. May need to talk to you about some turbo/tuning advice when I get back from my hols if that's OK?
