DIRTY VANDALS !!!!!!!!!

Got up this morning to this. Some dirty,dumb,Ned,tt who probably cant afford a car has destroyed mine. Scratch up the side, spanning the two doors at off/side. A crack to my back bumper, and a dent to my back door. Any one had any dealings with these scratch/dent repair firms. Any one think my car could be repaired by them. Don't want to claim on my insurance. My NCB is too important to me. Please take a min to at my pics and post your thoughts

Might be worth getting a cheap camera to see if you can catch anyone coming back to admire their handywork

Strange that they would target your car though, an ordinary family saloon.

Have you any grievances with a local?

Your car could be repaired... it's just a matter of what you are willing to spend and how easy the dent pops out or how cheaply a replacement bumper can be found

EDIT: a good bodyshop could probably repair that bumper... door looks trickier

Troglodites, they see something they can't have so rather than aspire to it, they choose to damage it. Luckily most people grow out of that stage at 2 or 3 years old.

yes in parts it has, you can see bare metal. 2 other cars were targeted in street

By the look of them they are deep scratches. Car looks silvery/pale grey metallic. That's a side respray - you can't just paint the scratchline.
The bumper certainly looks repairable & that might be worth asking a SMART repairer as a bodyshop will want to replace it.
You could try asking one of the PDR people about the dent - I've seen some dents taken out that I thought wouldn't PDR - but again, my own thoughts are that that will need panel beating & the line that follows the edge where the inner & outer skins come together is a worry.

It makes my blood boil seeing this,I travel up and down from Lancashire to Kent, and when I get bored, I notice quite a lot of new and old cars, that have been subject to this treatment.You never seem to catch them at the time,and oh yes if I caught them, I would do the time.

Fellow Bear & Madza6 driver here in the East of Scotland too

I had a scratch about 2 inches long on my front wing less than 24 hours after I got my 6.....

I've not done anything about painting it yet but I had some silvery/grey Colour Magic stuff from my old E46 and that did a good job of reducing the appearance of the scratch.

I would recommend a post in the Scotland forum - someone there will be able to recommend a good bodyshop and maybe get you a cheapish quote.

fwiw, had my Barchetta keyed a few years ago and the wing mirror kicked in, bent all the door not much you can do but suck it up. At least back then they actually sent a forensics van out and took some prints from the wing mirror where the scrotes had tried to rip it off.

Hoping one day someone will be going through passport control to Marbella or somewhere and get their collar felt for it.
