Best way to insure several cars?

As per title. The cars are..

1994 Porsche 964 3.6 Turbo
1987 Alpina E30 C2 2.7 convertible
2005 Alpina Z4 Roadster S

They are all for occasional use only.

We've used Admiral Multicar for a couple of years now, another hearty recommendation for them here.

The first car I gave Admiral details for was the Z4 Alpina.. and they don't insure them!

I got a quote for an admiral multicar policy. It was twice as much as i pay doing the cars seperately. Totally rediculous. Over £3000!

The individual prices are..

964 Turbo: £700 on a classic policy.
Alpina C2 2.7: £200 on a classic policy.
Alpina Roadster: S £800 on a standard policy.

I have also just bought an E30 Motorsport convertible!

I share trade cover with a friend, so 2 of us on the policy and we have a couple of XJS, a Boxster, Merc E Class, couple of car vans, 2 4x4's, a Z3, etc, etc. We do trade the odd car now and again but very few over the year. Cost? £45 each per month, so top value in my opinion.

I spoke to my broker about this today, and his advice was not to go down this route as one of my cars is of high value, and if something happened to it they would try thier hardest to wriggle out of it, and probably succeed!

I do mine through PaceWard who I believe use Chaucer. They are very accomodating & will cover most things. Price is fairly good too. They cover mine so, 2x Lotuses, GT3, RRS & A3. You can tailor the coverage on each car, so some can be agreed value, different mmileage restrictions on each, different drivers on each, etc., etc..

We went Admiral multicar. Cost of cars like my TVR, Merc E320, Audi cabriolet were about the same as separate policies. However the cost of insuring a Seat 2.0Tdi for my 20 year old son was half the price. Worthwhile.
