Took wheels off and discovered I've got Wilwood 4 pots and vented discs!

Reckon I can track some pads down with a bit of "Googling" but any ideas where the discs may have originated from ????

Is there an "Alternative parts list" anywhere ?

Trunnion and top ball joint TR6 ?
Anti roll bar drop link ?
Track rod end ?
Wishbone bushes ?

And one rear drive shaft has a big plastic cup thing sort of covering the inner UJ,guess there should there be one both sides ?

All advice and suggestions gratefully recieved wink

You best call me 07956956042...most of the car is my work ..Brakes (I think they are my driveshafts), ARB drop links will be mine and you WILL want full articulation track rods so that will be me, which bushes, for which points on the car? some are poly and others rubber.

By the time you have faffed about with Triumph suppliers, who know very little about TVR's.....

The brake discs are probably redrilled Ford Sierra, the rest seems quite special.

ANY reason for gratuitous pictures of your car is welcome.
Adrian@
Please tell me that this is a first build and that the stub axle nut has been replaced with a nyloc and the air versions of the track rod ends will work.

Fear not Mr Venn all in Mock up, and all now nylocked, shimmed, adjusted as required.

The calipers bye the way are not what they first appear to be and the discs are readily available for about £40 per pair.

Adrian, not "air," but "the emperor's new lightweight rod ends."

Neil, as you appear to be running Aluminium front hubs, this applies to you. I read an interesting discussion on another forum that points at a problem with this type of part in racing applications. The hub has a tendency to expand as heat is absorbed from the rotor. As it does so, it wears extremely quickly, because the bearings are now improperly located (hole diameter too large). As the heat build up is far greater in racing, than it is in street use, this does not become an issue with production cars.

My fix will be to run some kind of heat blocking, possibly high temp paint, and a stainless steel shim. If I find anything remotely solid, but not brittle, I'll use that instead. I'll also (try to remember to) look at building a vent pipe to the hub.

Looking good. How much longer for these projects to move under their own steam?

Very technical way of reducing heat transfer Bernard. I intend just to cruise around at the back a bit slower so it never gets hot. I only built the car to attract fit women in the paddock wink

What are you intending to run in as I see you're on Dunlop Historics - you'll never get away with that ARB in anything remotely FIA.

I never intend to go anywhere near Fia Richard> The car was Fia as was about 3 years ago. I suppose I am a casualty of not having enough money to start and finish a car before reg changes scuppered me.

UK club racing for me.

You used to be able to get away with the ARB set high like that in fia (but it now seems along with all the other clamping down / clarification in 09) that you have to run it in it std (underneath) location and to the proper existing mounts - though we have found (from some pic's last year) that rules can still be bent smile

I'm running mine in std location - also if not fia a rear bar will be a benefit (though even the fia cra seem to have em, but don't think may of the scrutineers know that much about how they were in period or would know if some mods should or should not be allowed, or ieven if what they are looking at is in fact as it waas or fabbed to do a much better job now wink

Mine has all the brackets to allow a rear bar but most don't think that they are particularly worth having. Not planning to run a rear bar on mine.

I'll access it when car is finished - specing roll bar is something to do late on for me. May try with just a front one, but as all road tvr's and Tuscan racers have em (+ NR latest fia cars - even if not strictly legal!), I'll more than likely have one.
