Yesterday two idiots stopped slap bang in the middle of the outside lane of the M40 to exchange details. They had families both sitting in each car and I couldn't see much damage on either car so it was clearly a light bump rather than an immobilising crash.

This then caused huge delays in both directions as people were forced to merge down to 2 lanes and rubberneck in the other direction ....

How can people be so stupid?

Ive hasd this before on the A40.Sadly tho, we couldnt avoid them and added to the statistics.

Ive also been reporting a speeder on the Southbound M1 Motorway one Sunday morning and we were stopped on the H/Shoulder when i heard a shout, "Yo hoo, can you tell me the way to Brent Cross Officer".
Ever so polite but the elderly man had stopped in the outside lane of the Northbound carriageway and was shouting across the central Barrier.

I wasnt as polite i can asure you

That's a bit worrying! You can't exactly miss Brent Cross if you're on the M1

Just which driver was the more dangerous here - the driver you were delivering acid lecture to for speeding or the the old geezer who does not appear to understand motorway rules.

Could you not have let the safish speeder off the hook and gone chasing after polite old gent instead and given him good old-fashioned "talking-to"?

But - have to say - not come across these types of suicidal morons in my daily blasts down the M6/M61/M60/M56 in North West --- yet!. But then - the locals do say they breed the most intelligent in this region!

The Jury is still out on that "bei uns!"

Both were idiots.......

Edited to say that the guy was driving a 4x4 and towing a Ford Ka on a 2 axle trailer.

He was doing 105mph and his excuse was that he had a slight misfire and was blasting it out.
He also had 13 points on his Licence so it was equally nice to take him off the road.

Nah! That's Pendle Hill! Rumour has it that their PC Gatso's black eyes - all down to witchcraft!

And cannot count past 15 No wonder very few of us manage to obey the 20mph limit stretch on main artery through Lakes!
