I'm in a moany mood today smile

What annoys you when driving?

For me the list is endless but off the top of my head:

People who don't think they need to indicate

People who don't say thankyou when you let them out

People who queue jump

People who drive up your ass

People who brake to a complete stop, and then indicate

People who force their way out of junctions

People who don't give way when an obstruction is on their side of the road

People who don't indicate (especially on roundabouts) annoy me!

Ah apologies, I guess I should have used the search function paperbag

I guess a mod should delete this then.

Sorry.

Ah just thought of another that happened this morning, a car using the left lane in a three lane roundabout to take the third exit mad

Just from today:

People driving literally 6' from each others bumpers, at 55-65, in the pissing rain.

Old bds merging into non existent spaces (i.e. the side of my car) forcing me to slam the brakes on and get all too close a look at a huge trucks reg plate in my rear view. Still he indicated, I guess that makes it ok.

Little cars going so slow on a nippy backroad they're holding up the massive TRUCK behind them.

It was an interesting 30 minute drive this morning grumpy

Yeah they don't realise by the time they see the person infront slam the brakes it'll be too late....

Ooh and another, people that text while driving.

Sounds like the A34 Oxford Western Bypass during the rush hour!

Thought of another, people who don't thank you when you let them out of junctions.

When you're approaching a mini roundabout and then person equidistant on your left makes eye with you thinking "shall I go for it?", and they do go for it the s.

Probably the same as most!

  • Not keeping left when not over taking on the motorway.
  • Using mobile phone when driving. Having it on speaker and not having it at your ear doesn't make it acceptable.
  • A bloke yesterday sounded his horn when I was entering the M1 at Colton because I would have hit him! I don't think he understood what a slip road is?
  • People entering your braking space when they see a space to overtake on a motorway.
  • People that travel at 50mph or lower on national speed limit roads that increase the speed after you overtake them and overtake you only to slow down again.
  • Truck drivers that take 6 years to overtake another truck especially on dual carriageways.

There are a number of them but the three worst (at the moment at least) are...

1. People (proper s) who think that they can just pull out / change lane without even looking, just because they have indicated for all of two seconds! I am seriously considering having a banger racing style cage fitted to my car to just push 'em off the road with.

2. People (complete nob heads) who choose for some reason to in the righthand lane, at the front of a cue at a set of lights and then pull away at a pace ridiculously slower than the car in the lefthand (slow) lane next to them - especially frustrating if you are the second car.

3. People who park at a pump at the petrol station when they are only going in the shop! I don't even care if the place is empty in the middle of the night - just bugs me for some reason.

Allow me to summarise - Most other people on the road.

I am no driving god, and occasionally do commit similar mistakes.

Just from this morning, the prat in a Japanese stbox who came past me in the limited section at way over the limit, then bumbled round the roundabout at the start of the three quarters of a mile of NSL dual, and then because on exit from island I've positioned in the right lane, in the right gear and making a positive speed increase and going for an overtake decides to teach me a lesson by swapping lanes 1>2>1>2>1>2 without any indicators until we get to the next bit of SC after the next island.

Mentally unstable prick.

On the phone or texting Mostly women doing it (sorry girls!) I think I hate the texting more as they're looking down into thier lap.

I always leave a good gap when stationary in traffic just incase of anything happening

Ive had myself ready on the clutch to escape a few times when dozy bints have been on thier phone behind!

A friend of mine has a good tactic he just stays on the horn untill they get off the phone. laugh

What really annoys me are people who are waiting for the two cars at the pump to drive off, then when they do, they decide to stop at the first available pump, rather than the one ahead so the person behind them can get in to it.

They then look at you like you've just killed their child when you beep the horn.

Yeah you're right that's exactly what I think smile

Although I'd like to think while we all make mistakes, I try and make less than others on the road.

I always indicate for example, and I'll always say thankyou, and never text while driving etc

Some of the things I've mentioned I see the same people doing the same things over and over.

Like not indicating, it's a common sight to see a driver ahead continuously chopping and changing lanes without even the slightest hint of an indicator.
