Finding my old car

On the basis that I am soon to sell my TVR (fingers crossed!), I am toying with the idea of going back to a 996tt, funds allowing. Rather than just hunting through the ads, I thought it would be wiser to try and find my old car. After all it was ordered in the perfect spec!
Only problem is I ran it on my own plate, so have no idea what the reg is. I do have the VIN number and wondered if anyone out there new how I could track down my old TT and see if the current owner is up for a deal.

You could try the Porsche Club - You have the option of putting the VIN number on the application I seem to remember.
