Watch for male - ocassional use 200GBP
Discussion
I have been left a small amount of inheritance and in the market for a stylish watch for around two hundred pounds. I have never had a really decent watch and currently where a 70 pound tissot which I like.
Looking for something nice(ish) for occasional use to keep for a long long time. Timeless design, substantial is better, is what I am after.
Any great deals about. Open to recommendations

Ignoring the political associations, Jorg Gray do some nice stuff at a fair price IMO

Take a look at Christopher Ward - internet sales only but good guarantees and recommended by many on here.
You've already discovered Tissot, The Visodate is a mechanical that comes in at just over £200 I believe.
Alternatively, go for something old. On flea bay there are a couple of US based sellers who specialise in restoration of Hamiltons - search for Hamilton watches and you'll find them easily. I'm talking 1940's onward watches with usually mint cases and restored dials. I just bought a 1960's Hamilton 'Darwin', with a 21 Jewel movement, white gold case, NOS crystal and leather strap, it cost me £160. Remember that you will pay 20% VAT on imports though.
ETA old watches are much smaller than todays oversized stuff. Be aware that some old gents watches will be about the same size as a regular sized womans watch today.
