Chaps, i'm due for the 6k service soon, who would you recommend for being particularly good with a Cerbera, will not stitch you up and also still 'reasonable' on the cost front? Somewhere in the south, although if someone knows of anyone further afield please let me know.

What are your experiences?

If you want an independant try Fernhurst - I've always used them, pity they went independant as I want to keep the full dealer history up on mine. I've always found them to be excellent value for money. I've now started using Tower View Racing in London as they are just down the road from me and cost half the price of the London TVR dealers. I would have stuck with Furnhurst if they had remained a factory dealer and put up with having to take a day off work for every service, Tower View are a bit more convenient for me now.

I replied along these lines a couple of weeks ago.I have had two services done by Fernhurst on my 1998 Griff 500 and have been delighted with the service each time. The first time was last year for a 'small'service, MOT and new spotlights and then last fortnight for a major service and MOT.The former was with them still as a main dealer and the latter with them as an independent on the basis that at four years old I couldn't see the need for a main dealer.Fernhurst were also some £200 cheaper than main dealers for a 4 year / 24000 mile service (even though the car has only done 8000 miles). To my mind the qulaity of the work and the general care and attention is first rate. I was particularly pleased that there was no suggestion that they would find a long list of items to replace (I gather some main dealers do). A loan car may be available for the day too. I suggest you see my other thread recently under the title 'A servicing recommendation' for more detail.

Why did you have to take a day off work to have a service at Fernies? I used to drop my car off one evening swapping with the courtesy car, then coming back the evening it was ready. Perfect!

I've used Walldonway for the last 2 services on the Cerbie, and been very impressed. Not the cheapest dealer in the world, but they certainly know their stuff, and can usually find a car for you to use while the service is done.

I've also heard good things about Dream Machines, but never had the car serviced there (had the uprights recall done there, and they seemed ok).
